I forget if it was Inside Story or something else on ATV World, but I remember watching this program where they included subtitles when a Singaporean interviewee spoke in perfect English with a typical Singaporean accent, but not when a local interviewee spoke in broken English with a typical Hong Kong accent.
I thought that was hilarious.
